GRAZIA Malaysia Turns Two in a Fantastical Garden Party

Fairies, flowers, lemon trees, and a string quartet—it was giving Bridgerton.

When it comes to creativity and style, nobody did it better than the crowd that turned up at our GRAZIA Garden Party. It was our second anniversary, and everyone understood the assignment when we said the dress code was “Garden Fantasy”. From our former cover girls, twins Renee and Riona Lau dressed as a butterfly and a bouquet of flowers respectively, to our current cover girl, Christinna Kuan in a sculptural, all-white floral gown, guests went all out interpreting the theme to their creativity. We loved seeing influencer Joe Shiang in an actual gardener’s outfit, while former cover girl Bay Doucet took a preloved piece from her shop Looop and channelled Tinkerbell with a bird clutch to boot.

Held at One Bangsar, we dressed the space up to look like a scene out of a palazzo garden, complete with lemon trees, garden tables and chairs, and a fantastic gazebo, midsommar-inspired centerpiece with a round stage. As guests were arrived, they were first greeted by the two Audi vehicles sitting at our entrance—the Q7 and the RS e-tron GT. They then took to the garden bedecked stairs and walked the yellow carpet up to our venue. Our eagle eyes spotted former national squash player Nicol David on the steps alongside big names in fashion such as Nazreem Musa, Melinda Looi, Celest Thoi, Khoon Hooi, Shaofen, and more, as well as notable celebrities like Aisha Retno, Eyka Farhana, and Daiyan Trisha. It was the place to be seen.

Within the main space itself, there was much to do. Drinks were free flowing and kept coming, from cocktails made with Chivas Regal whisky, Martell cognac, and Malfy Gin to Mumm sparkling wines and Jacob’s Creek wines. Nearly everyone we knew had a drink in hand and was readily toasting to each other’s good health and life. But for those who went alcohol-free, we had them covered with bottled coffee from HWC, a steady stream of mineral water going around, and Paolo Paolo Gelato from the Rado corner of the space. Between the drinks and the sweet treats, we had Dominic Catering Company going around with delectable canapes to keep guests filled and fueled for what’s to come.

And what’s to come that night held much promise. As guests were getting their dried flower bouquets made at the DeGem floral shop in the space, editor-in-chief Ian Loh got the audience’s attention with his speech, followed by Heart Media Sdn Bhd CEO Olivier Burlot. “After two years, we’re not just standing but thriving!” exclaimed Loh. “GRAZIA is the absolute moment,” said Burlot. The heartfelt speeches were bolstered by a wonderful performance by a string quartet from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), followed by powerful performances by Hiling Mader, Melissa Anne, and Ryan Pynam. Have you ever heard Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing live, in full powerhouse style by Pynam? It’s heart-moving and life-changing—we absolutely recommend it. The musical experience was definitely made better with an incredible sound system by Devialet, top-of-the-line speakers that could be seen throughout the venue.

We had to save the best for last, of course—lucky draw prizes, ranging from skincare kits by Skeyndor to hair styling equipment from GHD, the Leather Sack Bag from Marc Jacobs, GUESS vouchers, stays at the upcoming Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur, and the creme de la creme—the Devialet Phantom III 96dB and the Gemini II. We saw Riona Lau winning best dressed for her Tangoo floral bouquet dress, while Joe Shiang was the best dressed male in his gardener ‘fit. Everyone went home a winner, however, with their GRAZIA Malaysia goodie bag that contained our latest June/July 2025 double-cover issue featuring Athina and Arif Kamarudin as well as the Kuan sisters, products from Davines, HWC Coffee, Skeyndor, and more.

As DJ Julia Amin came on to spin with the remaining partygoers, the message was loud and clear from our guests: GRAZIA Malaysia knows how to throw a party. Check out more photos below.
