Sitting high above the city, Fuego is one of those rooftop spots that immediately puts you in a good mood. Located on the 23rd floor of The Troika as part of Troika Sky Dining, the vibrant restaurant and bar has been a fixture in Kuala Lumpur’s dining scene since May 2014—and somehow, more than a decade on, it still feels just as lively and current. Latin American energy, sweeping skyline views and a party-ready atmosphere come together here, making it easy to see why it remains a firm favourite.
The approach is a little unexpected. You’ll slip past Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar—also part of Troika Sky Dining—via a narrow walkway, and then the space opens up to a full-on city panorama—KL’s skyline stretching out, with TRX and Menara 118 now part of the view. Add in the bold, cheery Latin touches, and you’ve got a place that feels festive any night of the year. The mood is simple and inviting, with only one rule: to have a good time.

The look of the space leans heavily into its Latin American inspiration. From the updated logo inspired by Mexican rótulos to sculptural cacti, custom tiles, woven textiles and textured sandstone walls, the design channels the colours, landscapes and cultures of the region.
Food at Fuego is all about sharing. The menu is packed with tapas, small plates and larger dishes that revolve around crowd-pleasers like guacamole, ceviche, tacos, seafood and grilled meats. Long-time fans will be pleased to know that many of the signatures are still very much in the spotlight: guacamole made fresh to order (now also available with smoked duck), chargrilled lamb ribs, Wagyu beef flank, and the ever-popular cinnamon-dusted churros served with dulce de leche crémeux.

How about the drinks, you ask? If you like just a hint of heat, the cocktails alone are reason enough to visit. Fuego’s Latin-inspired drinks strike a clever balance between the familiar and the unexpected. They do a Mojito with lychee and a subtle chilli kick, a Whiskey Sour lifted with a dash of cayenne, and the Tequilapeño that’s tamarind-forward, lively and finished with jalapeño heat.
These are the kind of cocktails that tempt you to order “just one more”. Not drinking? Not a problem. There are equally thoughtful mocktail options, including Brisa de Coco and its spirited counterpart, Coco Loco. Both feature a fragrant house-made pineapple and vanilla syrup, plenty of fresh coconut water, pineapple jam, and a squeeze of lemon. Coco Loco adds a splash of almond-infused rum, making it an easy choice for a relaxed toast as the sun goes down, while Brisa de Coco keeps all the flavour without the alcohol.

Whether you’re flying solo with a cocktail and the view, planning an intimate date night, or gathering a big group for a celebration, Fuego fits the bill. The steady stream of locals and visitors passing through is proof that its spark hasn’t dimmed—and that this Latin-inspired rooftop still earns its place among Kuala Lumpur’s must-visit dining destinations.
