Into The Blue: Denim-Coded Make-Up Is The Fashion Week Trend To Try Now

This is true blue beauty.

Steel yourself… blue eye make-up is back. The key to keeping it modern? Dipping into a denim-inspired colour palette.

Chambray Shadow

“An elegant and modern way to wear blue is to apply it as a soft wash over your lids and skip mascara altogether,” says Chanel make-up artist Ninni Nummela, the pro behind these looks. “Stick to a barely there base and natural nude tones on your lips to keep the look fresh.”

High-Rise Indigo

If you want 2026-meets-Dynasty levels of glamour, make a play for metallics. “Use deep indigo shades to frame your entire eye,” says Nummela. “Paint them across lids, pulling up towards your brows and brush along your lash line to increase the drama.”

Light Wash Liner

“A great entry point for blue eye make-up are soft, diffused accents,” says Nummela. “Dabble with product – you can apply shadow or kohl – and warm up the rest of your face with toasty shades of blush.”

Double Denim

Get creative and clash textures. “Here I worked with streaks of highly pigmented cream shadow,” says Nummela. “Then I added definition and polished things up with a metallic kohl.” Sit in front of a mirror and play with your mascara, liners and shadows until you hit on a look you love.

Blue Rinse Mascara

“Blue mascara looks coolest when it’s layered and really worked into lashes for a slightly chaotic, clumpy effect,” advises Nummela. “Make it pop by smudging blue liner along your waterline.”
