Since we were young, we’ve always been told to take breaks when using the computer for too long. But now, with more screen time than ever before, we often ignore that advice and take our eyes for granted—even rubbing them however we please. Taking care of our eyes is a conscious decision we need to make, now more than ever. MOG Eyewear (MOG) puts it best: “Seeing fine does not mean your eyes are at their healthiest.” That’s why yearly eye checkups are so important.

As one of Malaysia’s leading eye care providers, MOG hosted a free, open-to-the-public 6-in-1 Vision Experience at 1 Utama. In collaboration with GRAZIA Malaysia, we invited some of our friends, including key opinion leaders and entrepreneurs, to experience the journey step by step. Guests such as Charis Ow and Penny Choo of BloomThis brought their child along for Little Optom—a one-of-a-kind initiative by MOG where children step into the shoes of an optometrist to learn about vision care and the importance of eye health. Other attendees included model and filmmaker Roanne Woo, hairstylist Cody Chua, and more.

Beyond stylish sunglasses or coloured contact lenses, the first and most important step is ensuring that our eyes are in good condition. The 6-in-1 Vision Experience begins with a personalised consultation, where the optometrist assesses each individual’s lifestyle, vision concerns, recurring symptoms, and family eye-health history to provide tailored care and advice.

Following the consultation, participants undergo a series of eye health assessments using advanced diagnostic equipment such as a topographer, slit lamp, and tonometer, based on their specific needs. Fundus photography and slit-lamp examination are key assessments that capture detailed images of both the front and back of the eye, helping to detect early signs of conditions like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataract, dry eyes, and potential eye infections.

Next is precise vision correction, where the optometrist determines the most accurate prescription through a series of tests, including refraction and eye muscle evaluations. Based on the results, a personalised lens is prescribed—often enhanced with UV protection, anti-glare coating, or lifestyle-specific features such as polarised, transition, or tinted lenses. Advanced digital eyewear fitting ensures optimal visual clarity and comfort, while extended care protection includes routine follow-ups for eye tests, eyewear adjustments, and ongoing eye health support.

Guests were also treated to a beSeen berry drink—rich in antioxidants and nutrients that support eye health—and a Grainlive nutritional drink, which helps relieve eye fatigue, dry eyes, and blurred vision. The experience concluded with a gift: a pair of sunglasses from Playmonster and coloured contact lenses from Medicsoft Gemz.

MOG’s six-step approach combines advanced technology with personalised consultation to optimise eye health. The entire process typically takes between 20 to 40 minutes, depending on individual eye conditions. Book an appointment here.
