The Boogeyman

Premieres 1st June in cinemas

Based on a short story by best-selling author Stephen King, this horror-thriller follows Sadie Harper and her sister Sawyer who are haunted by the titular boogeyman. It all starts when their therapist father, Will, receives a desperate patient in his home office who then leaves behind a horrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider Verse

Premieres 1st June in cinemas

One of our most anticipated summer blockbusters—not least because a Malaysian artist had a hand in making it—is finally here. In the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Miles Morales is catapulted across the Multiverse where he encounters and clashes with a team of Spider-People as the fate of the entire universe hangs in the balance.

The Crowded Room

Premieres 9th June on Apple TV+

Speaking of Spider-Man, Tom Holland trades his web shooter for a gun in this limited series. The English actor plays against type as a man who is detained following his involvement in a shooting in New York City in 1979. Holland’s Danny Sullivan unravels after a series of interviews with Amanda Seyfried’s interrogator Rya Goodwin, sending this thriller into overdrive.

Extraction 2

If adrenaline-pumping action thrillers are uniquely your brand, then you might want to tune in to Extraction 2. Chris Hemsworth’s second outing as black-ops gun for hire Tyler Rake promises a deeper look into the character’s backstory as he takes on another dangerous mission: saving the family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they’re being held.

Asteroid City

One of our favourite auteurs, Wes Anderson, is coming back with another masterpiece. After making a splash at the Croisette last month, Asteroid City will land on our shores later this month. Set in a fictional American desert town in 1955, the story unfolds when the itinerary of a Junior Stargazer slash Space Cadet convention is dramatically disrupted by world-changing events.

Jennifer Lawrence in a broad, raunchy comedy? We used to pray for times like this. The Academy Award-winning actress plays a woman who is desperate to save her childhood home before stumbling into an opportunity too good to pass on: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to “date” their introverted 19-year-old son before he leaves for college.

Skull Island

Premieres 22nd June on Netflix

King Kong is wreaking havoc once again and this time around, it’s tearing up the small screen in 2D. Skull Island chronicles the adventures of a group of researchers who shipwrecked on a deserted island in the South Pacific. There, the characters voiced by Betty Gilpin, Nicolas Cantu, Mae Whitman and more, are confronted by a menagerie of fearsome creatures, including Kong.

Revenant

Premieres 23rd June on Disney+ Hotstar

Poverty-stricken Gu Sanyeong doesn’t think that things could get any worse for her until the passing of her father. With tragedy seemingly following her at every turn, she’s determined to discover the truth with the help of Yeom Haesang, a man gifted with the ability to see the demons. This occult mystery thriller stars The Handmaiden’s Kim Taeri and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’s Oh Jungse.

A plane to London is hijacked. The authorities on the ground are banging their heads against the wall and the rest of the world is waiting with bated breath to see if the seven-hour flight would end in catastrophe. Idris Elba’s Sam Nelson, an accomplished business negotiator, attempts to save the lives of the passengers on board with his guile, but could his high-risk strategy backfire?

Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny

One more for the road? Harrison Ford embarks on his final Indiana Jones adventure as he reprises his iconic role as the hero archaeologist. Racing against time and a former Nazi who works for NASA, he and his goddaughter—played by the effervescent Phoebe Waller-Bridge—join forces to uncover and retrieve a great dial that can change the course of history.
