Pop star Dua Lipa has gained an undeniable reputation as a fashion It Girl over the years. Her ability to pull off any look is well-documented on her Instagram and fashion publications across the globe, switching seamlessly from flamboyant gowns on the red carpet to sleek, printed separates on her off-duty days. It comes as no surprise then that she has been announced as the co-designer of Versace’s new “La Vacanza” collection.
“Working with Dua on this collection has been very exciting and I love the dynamic between us. Dua is strong, fearless, and free and her creative vision is exceptional,” Donatella Versace says of the singer in the press release. “Summer is a magical time. We will capture this feeling and the colours of that time of the year with a truly special and intimate fashion show in Cannes.”
“La Vacanza” is one of many collaborations to come between Dua Lipa and Versace, the house teased. In this one, expect to see summer-ready designs informed by her individuality and personal style.
“[Donatella Versace] and I have formed such a strong bond over the years, and I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received from her and the whole team since the very beginning of my career. For her to give me the honour of co-designing this collection and letting all my summer inspirations go wild has been a dream,” explains the songstress.
The Versace High Summer “La Vacanza” fashion show will take place on 23 May in Cannes, France, and the collection will be available in-store and online immediately after the show.
