Emma Corrin Proves Fashion Is Their Superpower During The Press Tour For ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Their proverbial suits of armour thread a tale of heroic proportions in every stitch.

Sartorially embracing the chasms of an ever-expanding cinematic universe is a tough ask for any veteran actor or red carpet virtuoso—especially when it comes to the expansive multiverse that is Marvel Studios. So, when Emma Corrin was cast as the villainous telekinetic mutant Cassandra Nova in the imminent third instalment of the Deadpool trilogy, Deadpool & Wolverine, it was understood their assignment would be to deliver fashion of epic proportions. (As famously quipped in the Spiderman franchise; “With great power comes great responsibility”.)

Corrin has become somewhat of a style chameleon since shedding the remnants of breakout role, Princess Diana in the award-winning fourth season of The Crown. Embracing both the most eccentric offerings—JW Anderson’s trompe l’oeil fish bag dress—and devilishly chic—their custom Miu Miu column dress with matching swim cap and talon opera gloves from the 2021 Emmy Awards—obscurity and opulence meld into one under their guise. Indeed, Corrin would never be caught ‘method dressing’ when they can bend luxury creations to fit their own narrative.

While we might never see Corrin directly pay homage to the metal claws possessed by Hugh Jackman’s anti-hero Wolverine, or the red spandex worn by Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool, we will receive a comic book-sized fantasy worth revisiting again and again. Such was the case for their first promotional outing in Berlin. Eschewing the surreal for the glamorous, Corrin embraced the cabaret and Kit Kat clubs the city is synonymous with in a pantless suspender satin dress from Saint Laurent. With more looks up their and stylist Harry Lambert’s sleeve, acquaint yourself with all the looks that prove fashion is Corrin’s superpower.

Taking to their first red carpet event for the film, Corrin reaffirmed that elegance will be a perpetual Hollywood staple. The actor selected a wrapped mini dress with high-neck detailing and garter accents from Saint Laurent’s deliciously diaphanous Fall/Winter 2024 collection.

Buckle in for an adventure. Or at least, that is what Corrin’s couture leather jacket from Schiaparelli is signalling to audiences. On the next stop of the global tour, Corrin and their cast mates headed to their native London. Shifting into fashion overdrive, Corrin donned look eight from Daniel Roseberry’s mechanical-inspired Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture collection.

The piece featured an asymmetrical jacket in crocodile-effect embossed black technical velvet, enhanced by an oversized collar in contrasting white satin embroidered with tonal micro-tubes, rhinestones and silk threads, and cowboy-inspired silver-plated buckles. Corrin completed the outfit with extra-wide cotton denim pants and crocodile-effect embossed patent black leather cowboy boots.
