The “Alligator” Changes Courts

But the Lacoste tenacity for style and power remains the same.

Lacoste founder, René Lacoste, was first and foremost a tennis prodigy at the age of 19. His gumption and determination on the court led to a journalist nicknaming him “The Crocodile”, which went on to become the iconic logo we know and love from the brand. Beyond tennis, Lacoste has since expanded its reach into the realms of fashion and other sports—including pickleball, a highly trending sport. In fact, at our recent GRAZIA Pickleball Tournament, Lacoste was a major partner in making the event a success.

Picture this: you’re at a pickleball tournament, and the locker room area is decked in Lacoste-green lockers, filled with pieces from the brand’s latest collection, as well as iconic pieces that Lacoste is known for. We’re talking the classic L.12.12 polo shirt, the popular Lenglen bag, and many other pieces that would make the perfect outfit for a stylish pickleball session.

To expound on just how stylish one could look decked in outfits from Lacoste for their pickleball session, the brand dressed some of the players at our GRAZIA Pickleball Tournament. Take first runner up Linus Teng, for example, who was decked head to toe in Lacoste. Former beauty queen Yvonne Lee was also dressed in a Lacoste outfit of her own picking, with a gorgeous plaid skirt to complement her white top. Meanwhile, host Hunny Madu and designer Shalma Aina kept things simple and stylish with their all-white outfits.

Beyond the heat of these outfits, Lacoste still managed to keep things cool with their ice cream cart during the GRAZIA Pickleball Tournament. Delectable ice cream flavours such as soursop and osmanthus were a hit with the crowd, which they enjoyed while chilling on deck chairs underneath the parasols. When the sun hung lower in the horizon, the DJ took to the deck to keep the vibes going with some tunes, ensuring a good time for those on the court and off it.
