Summer is for frolicking in the sun while oil-sheen sunbathers dot the shores, alongside the liberating feeling of jumping into the cool water. For us, it’s also the season of Dioriviera. Whilst this part of the world is blessed with year-round warmth—heat, really—having that slice of the Riviera has been a highly-anticipated annual affair. Landing in Malaysia, the French Maison is putting Penang on the fashion map with a pop-up that opens its doors from June 13 to August 11, 2025, at the Macalister Mansion.

Destination pop-ups are not a novelty for Dior. The inaugural beach club takeover at One & Only Desaru Coastline back in 2023 cemented Dior’s position as a pioneer in the domain of resort retail destination pop-ups—a summer initiative that has been popular among luxury brands. Bringing that salty tang of sea breeze to the city centre, the Dior Café pop-up at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur last year was also nothing short of spectacular. It’s safe to say that by now, the launch of Dioriviera marks the start of the season of sand and sandals—or in Dior’s lexicon, the season of Dway slides.

A hallmark and a key design code of the House, the Toile de Jouy Sauvage has been a cornerstone of the summer capsule collection. Dipped in vibrant shades of turquoise and pink, the storied textile is dressed in a reimagined bucolic motif. A new variation, the Toile de Jouy Palms, is also added to the collection to celebrate the fertile jungles and the rich tapestry of life. Featured on a series of beach-ready pieces such as sarongs, ponchos and towels, the prints can also be found on a series of skirts, blouses, tops or even accessories like scarves and caps. The signature Lady D-Lite and Dior Book Tote bags went through a makeover too, flaunting the romantic pastoral patterns.

A mainstay of the Dioriviera capsule, the Dway slides are available not just in various colours but also heights— with platforms, flats or heeled. The Dioract mules, on the other hand, are made for those who have city strolls on their summer checklist. Not only is the modern exterior made with lightweight leather, but it is also a comfortable shoe for many because of its anatomically shaped insoles. While the minimalists would appreciate these sleek and timeless pairs, those who wish to jazz up their aestival looks would cherish the D-Sand sandals. With the strappy sandal as the canvas, dangling charms were added as a decoration—a tiny detail that will animate every look.
A popular accessory for summer has to be the straw hats. The D-Bobby straw hat, for instance, is not only a great protective gear, but the large-brimmed hat is also a classic fashion piece to keep. Trimmed with leather cord and adorned with aquatic-themed charms, the Teddy-D is a whimsical two-tone raffia hat that would fit into every possible summer wardrobe. Extending the jewellery lineup Dior has been renowned for, Dioriviera rolls out an assortment for the Dior Cabinet d’Été, furnished with seafaring motifs, such as seahorses, turret shells, pearls or starfish.

Expanding the capsule collection to homewares, Dior Maison essentials, too, are wrapped up with vibrant summery touches. A selection of furniture and the beach mat—made with natural materials—boosts the signature Cannage pattern that reflects Dior’s savoir-faire. Echoing the Toile de Jouy Palms, the fashion powerhouse collaborates with Jean Roger for ceramic palm trees and the Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy—masters of enamelware in France—for vases, along with hand-painted candle jars.
As the warm sea breeze ruffles our hair, summer has arrived—in style—with the latest Dioriviera offerings, available in resorts and pop-up stores from the coastal town to the shores, from Venice to Marmaris, Bali to Malaysia. Be sure to stop by the Dioriviera Penang pop-up to get a glimpse of the collection, as well as a piece of the European summer.
