Now that Summer 2024 is well underway, it’s time to introduce some summer scents to your perfume rotation list.
What makes a scent “summery”?
While we’d like to tell you to wear any fragrance you want despite the season, there are certain perfume notes that will hit better when the weather is warmer, versus the colder weather. If you’re a vanilla girly, for example, you might find yourself choking on the sickly sweetness of it on a hot, sunny day. That doesn’t mean you can’t wear a vanilla fragrance in the summer—just keep it light or ensure there’s a citrus note in the fragrance somewhere. As a rule of thumb, summer scents are synonymous with citrus, light or white florals, berries, and herbaceous green notes.
That said, not all summer scents need to be light and bright.
