Resonance of Souls by Bayu Utomo Radjikin
Bayu Utomo Radjikin, a founding member of the Matahati Collective and founder of HOM Art Trans, presents his latest solo show, Resonance of Souls, at HARTA Space, a platform by HABIB that celebrates tradition and the arts. Known for his emotive mix of figuration and abstraction, Bayu explores the body as a vessel for the soul, capturing quiet emotional struggles through vivid colour fields, textured brushwork, and powerful, expressive forms.
The works mostly feature anonymous male figures, intentionally stripped of identity to encourage a more universal connection. Set within abstract environments, these figures reflect inner effort, tension, and restraint, becoming symbols of discipline and quiet resistance. Rather than spelling things out, Bayu leaves the emotions open, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and find their meaning. With a rich palette of reds, blacks and whites and a consistent, focused format, this exhibition is a powerful continuation of Bayu’s evolving artistic journey.
