Call Taman Paramount gentrified, but it’s undeniable that it has consistently maintained itself as an enclave with no shortage of excellent food options. From hawker fare in kopitiams that have been around for more than three decades to new, trendier spots and upscale restaurants, Taman Paramount is the foodie haven. Now, imagine if you could condense a good number of them into a cocktail menu and drink them up in one place. Good news: that concept exists in the form of the new menu at Remedy Cocktail Bar.
Taman Paramount, condensed into a cocktail
For their latest menu, Remedy Cocktail Bar partnered with some of Taman Paramount’s known eateries to create cocktails based on their best-sellers. We start with Pad Kra Pow, inspired by Pad Boy. It tastes precisely like it sounds: a savoury, spicy cocktail with a refreshing burst of basil and citrus. It may feel intimidating, but the cocktail is inspired by the Bloody Mary—with a twist. This forms the basis for the bar’s menu: classics for those who love a signature classic cocktail and its reinterpretation inspired by the Paramount community. It shows how two drinks with a shared DNA can be made in vastly different ways.

The Pistachio Velvet is another innovative example. Partnering with Artigusto Gelato, this ice cream cocktail hybrid was inspired by the Scottish Coffee (which is different from the Irish Coffee in its spirit aspect). It has all the flavours that most love: Lotus Biscoff, pistachio gelato, and coffee foam, to create an unimaginably easy cocktail. Too easy, in fact. Another cocktail that was far too easy to go down—and even comes with a garnish that we love—is the Toast & Kaya. Partnering with modern kopitiam Kee Corner, the whisky-based cocktail is amplified with a homemade kaya liqueur and citrus elements to keep it refreshing. As for that garnish we mentioned? It’s none other than actual kaya toast. If only we could have it for breakfast.
Jumping back on the savoury cocktail bandwagon is a pizza-inspired one, in collaboration with none other than 1MorePizza. Pizza Margherita has all the elements of its namesake pizza flavour, but trust us when we say it works. Tomato and parmesan cheese form the silky, savoury notes on the Herradura Reposado-based drink, while the basil oil droplets on the top add texture and fun in every other sip. It’s a spirit-forward cocktail inspired by the Rosita, so go easy on it.
We’ve mentioned before that most bars absolutely hate when you order a Ramos Gin Fizz, but Remedy Cocktail Bar is perhaps one of the few in town that gives you a hall pass for ordering that. In fact, they’ve even partnered with bakery-cafe Asa Cafe to create their own rendition of it: the Sourdough Ramos. It’s not a drink to be dainty with—the sourdough foam on your lip is inevitable but worth it for that creamy, tangy drink with a rye whisky base and nutty Frangelico liqueur.

Last thoughts
Now in their second year, Remedy Cocktail Bar shows strong promise with this new menu. It’s been a while since we’ve experienced a menu that we thoroughly enjoy from start to end, with each cocktail standing strong in a multitude of flavours and balances. The word “balance” here is a major factor—there’s something catered to every type of flavour profile, never just surrendering to the singular saccharine depth. Make your pilgrimage to Taman Paramount, because now it’s not just a foodie haven—there are drinks to go with it too.
