Gird your loins, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is finally here, and there’s plenty of sartorial inspiration to be found at Runway yet again. After nearly 20 years, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are reprising their iconic roles in what is perhaps one of the most anticipated movie sequels of our time, and we’re understandably hyped.
Naturally, the world of fashion has changed a fair bit since 2006. So when costume designer Molly Rogers was tasked with outfitting these iconic characters, she needed to give their wardrobes a 2026 overhaul. The key for Rogers was not to chase trends or go viral but to work with character DNAs instead. ‘I really did not want to draw attention to things like a pigeon bag,’ she says, of Carrie Bradshaw’s JW Anderson clutch in AJLT, which sparked many a meme.
Miranda now appears in fluid uniforms of skirts and duster coats by Dries Van Noten. Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs gets ‘feminine menswear’ – the exact words on Rogers’ initial mood board. ‘She was a fish out of water in the first movie, now she’s seen the world. As Diana Vreeland once said, “The eye has to travel,” and Andy’s character has learned what works for her.’ So you’ll find Andy sporting a mix of tailoring and statement pieces like a pleated Sacai skirt or the patchwork Gabriela Hearst maxi dress. The kind of looks that depict a fashion outsider’s idea of a fashion insider – one who’s ‘made it’ and developed a penchant for Schiaparelli – there are no prizes for subtlety in this franchise.
The costume department’s favourite character to dress was, of course, Emily Charlton. ‘Everyone wanted to pull looks for her, from Rick Owens, Vivienne Westwood. She’s the one [the team] fought over.’ Then there’s Simone Ashley’s Amari, who was initially written to wear head-to-toe designer looks. ‘I said to the writer, “I think that’s a mistake in 2026,”’ says Rogers, who first thought to dress her like Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in luxury basics like The Row. But ‘hovering behind Miranda, it didn’t work and it wasn’t serving her age’. Then Thom Browne arrived in the fitting room ‘and a crazy vest from a resale shop, made entirely of men’s ties – that would have been too obvious for Andy, but for Simone? Perfect.’
Surprisingly, many of the key pieces we’ve seen so far, including Andy’s Toteme Ribbed Tank Top and Celine cat-eye sunglasses, are still in stock, so whether you’re looking to recreate the exact outfits or shop similar staples (we’ve included some excellent, affordable alternatives below), it’s your lucky day. You might remember this outfit from the multiple memes of Anne Hathaway tripping down the stairs while filming. But what you might not know is that she’s wearing a sheer top from Acne Studios, a pleated Fendi skirt, Valentino Rockstud sandals, and the vintage Coach briefcase bag we’ve spotted her in before.
The Jacket And Jeans
Andy Sachs has evidently stepped up her casual outfits. Case in point, this khaki rain jacket and turn-up jeans formula she was spotted in.
The Blue Shirt
In another one of Hathaway’s elevated basic outfits, she’s seen wearing an item we all most likely have in our wardrobes – a blue shirt. She wears hers with a pair of blue jeans, cat eye sunglasses and a sleek belt.
The Purple Ball Gown
Hathaway was spotted spinning around set in a striking purple Rabanne dress and matching purple strappy sandals. As for arm candy? She opted for a stylish chainmail bag.
The Sacai Skirt And Shirt
Anne Hathaway stepped out in a pleated twill midi skirt by Sacai, paired with a crisp white shirt featuring subtly puffed sleeves. It’s the kind of workwear that’ll elevate your usual uniform.
The Pinstripe Maxi Dress
Another tailored number, Hathaway wore the label’s Coleridge vest on top of a pinstriped midi dress styled with a pair of Paris Texas boots.
The White Monochrome Tee And Trousers
Hathaway looked effortlessly chic in a white monochrome look. Her oversized Phoebe Philo tee may seem simple from the front, but it features a dramatic train that pairs perfectly with her structured Nili Lotan jeans and Prada Mohawk leather pumps. The Suede Blazer And Jeans
Hathaway channelled academia chic in a suede Ralph Lauren Purple Label blazer, paired with Levi’s Low Pro Jeans, Zadig & Voltaire snakeskin boots, and a silk scarf. The Colour-Block Dress
Hathaway was spotted wearing an incredibly bold Gabriela Hearst dress styled with a pair of Chloé platform sandals, a blue Fendi bag, a crochet bucket hat and Bvlgari sunglasses. As for jewellery, she wore a stack of pearl necklaces with a gold diamond toggle pendant necklace by Jemma Wynne (you can shop a similar one from Tilly Sveaas) as well as the Squash Blossom Bead Choker from Marlo Laz.
The Off-Duty Tank And Skirt
Hathaway also wore the off-duty outfit of our dreams, pairing a simple denim maxi skirt from Agolde with a clean cut Toteme tank top. For footwear, she opted for a pair of chunky Chanel velcro sandals, while her Bvlgari sunglasses also made a reappearance.
The Zip Up Denim Jumpsuit
Hathaway wore the Chanel Velcro sandals again, this time with a Re/Done zip-up denim jumpsuit featuring mechanical motif patches and embroidered details. She completed the look with a studded Valentino Garavani Panthea bag, adding a hint of biker charm. Get her look with a similar jumpsuit from Whistles – simply add some iron-on patches.
The Pinstriped Two Piece
The first look Hathaway was spotted in was naturally a fashion heavy-hitter: vintage pinstriped waistcoat and trousers set from Jean Paul Gaultier, paired with an archival Coach Saddle Pouch, finished with a pair of pointed-toe heeled boots. But fret not, we’ve found a similar two-piece from Reformation.
The Sleek Black Dress
Presumably dressed for a funeral, Hathaway sported a pintucked maxi from Khaite, styled with tailored black coat, slingback heels and the Coach Empire Caryall 34 bag.

The Red Gown
In what appears to be a recreation of the MET Gala, Meryl Streep wore a billowing red ball gown with an off-the-shoulder neckline. Take cues from Miranda for formal occasions this season and opt for a red maxi. & Other Stories’ version is more pared back and suitable for off the red carpet.
The Pale Grey Suit
Streep was spotted in this grey suit from a small Milanese brand called Sasufi, paired with grey block heels, black sunglasses and silver hoop earrings. While we’re sure Miranda Priestly would never be caught in Uniqlo, for those of us without Runwaybudgets, we’ve found chic affordable alternatives on the high street.
The Beige Trench
One of our personal favourite outfits so far, this classic look is one for our perennial style moodboards. From the Sa Su Phi coat to the ribbed white blouse, navy trousers, and ruby red Jacquemus heels adorned with bow detailing, there’s not an element we don’t love.
The Leather Skirt
While we’re uncertain about the exact provenance of this look, we’re definitely adding the tan leather skirt and beige trench coat paired with a bright purple blouse to our work rotation. We do, however, know that her exact sunglasses are from Jimmy Choo (which are still available to shop) and as for jewellery, she wore a Briony Raymond Slim Sloan Diamond Ring.

The Striped Jumper And Skirt
Emily Blunt stepped out in a recent look that we must admit, we didn’t see coming. She pairs a red and black striped jumper from Coach (now sold out) with a black mini skirt, tights and a chainmail tie.
The Monochrome Pinstripe Look
In our first look at Emily Blunt reprising her role as Emily Charlton, she wore a Wiederhoft pinstripe bustier and wide-leg corset trousers by Jean Paul Gaultier with a Dior-emblazoned white shirt, a Dior D-Journey bag and black sunglasses, delivering a masterclass in high-fashion executive cool.

The Mini Dress And Knee-High Socks
Joining the ensemble as the GenZ employee in the mix, Simone Ashley’s outfits are more playful. Case in point, this Monse tapestry dress styled over a white shirt with knee-high socks and Giuseppe Zanotti patent leather heels.
