Evenings feeling a little monotonous of late? Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur’s Sunset Social is surely the answer. Cosy in atmosphere and creative in flavours, this limited-time happy hour experience is setting the tone for the weekends, offering a seasonal garden ambience where visitors can revel in the balmy evening air—under the glow of golden hour—with curated music, a variety of delicious bar bites, and refreshing tipples in hand. Safe to say, it’s a solid sundown escape for those of us looking to unwind and celebrate the end of a long week.
Designed as an after-work destination, the weekly series is only available from Thursdays to Saturdays, 5.30pm to 10pm, and is set within the transformed Lemon Garden 2Go, where guests are invited into a mesmerizing open-air setting to witness the evening glow settle into night, surrounded by lush greenery and ambient lighting.
If you’ve managed a visit since the launch in June and think you’ve seen it all—think again, because Sunset Social has a weekly rotating beverage collaboration between local brews and international favourites (starting from RM30 onwards). Each week brings a new pairing between crafted beers, wines and distinctive spirits, from Malaysia’s very own PaperKite Craft Beer to Oaxaca’s artisanal Creyente Mezcal. If that isn’t reason enough to come back, a weekly line-up of different DJs will be on site to curate a track list that will ease you into the night, beginning with sunset grooves that transitions into lounge music and soulful tracks.
After the first few sips, reinterpretations of Malaysian favourites in small bites come next. Crafted by the skillful hands of the culinary team led by Executive Chef Eric Fettke, the sharing menu includes Pulled BBQ Beef Sliders—tender, slow-cooked beef with a sweet-smoky note, and Ayam Percik Tacos. Patrons may also be tempted by the Mini Bao with Chicken Rendang, a distinctive pairing where aromatic spices meet soft, pillowy textures. Whether gathering with friends or flying solo, Sunset Social provides the perfect opportunity to slow down after a long week with rhythmic tunes, good food and great company—while still keeping things interesting with each visit.
