At the Vanity Table with… Jane Chuck

She really said, “Chuck it all.”

At the Vanity Table With… is a series that dives into a personality’s beauty tips, tricks, non-negotiables, and more. In this edition, Jane Chuck gets into her favourite pre-makeup rituals and the two beauty trends that she won’t be participating in.

The dynamo that is Jane Chuck (b. Jane Lau) needs very little introduction. You may have stumbled upon her over 500,000-followers-strong Instagram account recently. Others might have discovered her after realising she’s the mastermind behind the always-trending brands Chuck’s and Motherchuckers. But if you’re a real OG, you would have been following her since the days of her namesake blog.

Looking back from 2011 (that’s when she started posting on the blog), she is now a household name in the local brand game. The beauty girlies are proudly repping Chuck’s, her beauty brand that boasts formulations from South Korea. The cosy-core fashion circle are quick to cop a piece of the Motherchuckers pie, too. And she has more up her sleeves. For a while now, she’s been teasing Pretty Motherchuckers—which seems to be taking a page out of the coquette aesthetic that’s taking over TikTok right now—so if you’re not big into loungewear, there are always options.

More recently (and following her pregnancy announcement), she is now breaking new ground: baby clothes. As of writing, Motherchuckers Kids is currently on pre-order. But judging by the visuals that came from the campaign and the reaction to the news, we’re willing to bet our last dollar that it will level the success of her other endeavours.

As you can tell by now, the social media influencer turned entrepreneur is always ahead of the curve, anticipating the next trend to enter the zeitgeist, and, by the time it’s hit the masses, will be prepared to dole out the goods for you to hop on the hype train. All without missing a beat.

Ahead, she shares her beauty opinions, must-haves, and little fun facts that make her Jane Chuck.
