Bag of the Week: RIMOWA Groove Bag

Let's groove.

Bag of the Week is a franchise that highlights the latest, most hyped luxury bags. Each week, we showcase a bag that is generating significant buzz, whether for its design, exclusivity, or popularity. This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the RIMOWA Groove Bag.

RIMOWA takes a bold step beyond the tarmac with the launch of its Groove Collection—a refined line of Italian-made leather bags that distills the Maison’s design DNA into everyday form. As its name suggests, the Groove Collection riffs on RIMOWA’s most recognizable motif: the iconic ridged surface of its aluminium suitcases.

Reimagined in supple leather, the signature grooves appear as an oversized pattern of vertical and horizontal lines with tighter spacing, lending a sculptural quality to the smooth surface. Details such as the embossed logo and a custom interior plate with rivets reflect the brand’s focus on craftsmanship.

The collection launches with four styles—the Groove Shopping Bag, the Groove Sliding Hobo Bag, and the Groove Crossbody Bag in large and small sizes—each designed with an emphasis on practicality. The Shopping Bag offers a sculpted and timeless silhouette, while the Sliding Hobo adopts a more relaxed profile with adaptable straps, a detachable pouch, and organised interior pockets. Both designs can be secured onto RIMOWA suitcases, maintaining a clear link to the brand’s travel roots. The Crossbody Bags, meanwhile, take direct inspiration from RIMOWA’s luggage, featuring clean lines, palladium hardware, and a wide zip opening for accessibility.

Colourways are kept deliberate and concise. The Shopping Bag, Sliding Hobo, and both Crossbody sizes are available in classic black, while a metallic silver finish references the Maison’s aluminium cases. Seasonal shades of pink, burgundy, and green are introduced for the small Crossbody Bag, offering subtle contrast without breaking the minimalist aesthetic.

Thoughtfully made to withstand daily use, the Groove Collection positions itself as an evolution of RIMOWA’s design philosophy rather than a departure from it, already seen on:
