The streets of New York have once again become fashion’s most dynamic runway, as the Fall/Winter 2026 season of New York Fashion Week draws a travelling style set. As it goes, beyond the glimmering lights of the shows, the city itself becomes a stage where celebrities, editors, models, and tastemakers showcase their sartorial prowess.
This season, New York’s off-runway crowd did not disappoint. Leading the best off-runway looks was none other than Syrian-American artist, Rama Duwaji, who marked her first NYFW as First Lady of the city, following her husband Zohran Mamdani’s inauguration as mayor of New York City earlier this year. Rama made a front row appearance at the Diotima show. Keeping it as cool and chic as ever, the artist wore a beige trench coat as a dress paired with another tweed trench over the top.
The best looks didn’t stop there. From Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren to Diotima, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, and Coach, the best-dressed delivered looks that were still playful and daring despite the frigid weather. Layers of knits sat beneath inventive tailoring, dramatic furs and bold hats were around every corner, and boots of all varieties became a practical solution to icy sidewalks.
Bringing some trusted star power, Jennie Kim, Dakota Johnson, Nara Smith, Alexa Chung and Jodie Turner-Smith also made head-turning appearances for the front row.
Here, GRAZIA rounds up the best looks spotted off the runway at NYFW.
