Sometimes when an Instagram post drops, the whole world goes into chaos—and we’re taking a look at a few of those moments. Take Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce: within minutes, everyone was frantically Googling her engagement ring and even the Cartier watch she happened to be wearing. Kelce worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry to design the ring—a brilliant-cut old mine diamond, rounded at the corners and bezel-set in yellow gold, complete with engraving along the band. Georgina Rodríguez’s engagement to her long-term boyfriend Ronaldo caused its own massive spectacle, too. Her oval-cut diamond—reportedly around 37 carats—had the internet in a chokehold, even though the jeweller behind it remains a mystery.

But this next one didn’t just stun France. The Louvre Museum in Paris was forced to close suddenly after staff discovered a heist had occurred. Thieves armed with power tools broke into the world’s most visited museum in broad daylight before escaping on scooters with eight incredibly valuable pieces of jewellery. According to authorities, the stolen items include diadems, necklaces, earrings, and brooches, all dating back to the 19th century and once belonging to French royalty or imperial rulers. The last suspected member of the gang has been arrested, though the stolen jewellery is still missing.
