As the saying goes amongst industry insiders, it’s always fashion week somewhere. This week, though, the somewhere is a little glitzier and a lot more thrilling than your average city. New York Fashion Week is upon us once again, and with it, a star-studded guest list that promises to dominate our feeds and style moodboards alike.
The schedule kicked off with pre-calendar shows by American fashion giants Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren. Ralph Lauren’s showing was as impressive as expected, with the brand embracing the spirit of adventure in a collection that revelled in deep, rich hues and a whirlwind of textures. The front row was equally as dazzling, boasting Asian stars like Krystal Jung and Kim Do-yeon alongside musical icons like Lana Del Rey. And the standout style moments weren’t limited to the runway—Krystal Jung proved that black never goes out of style in a daring bra top and leather jacket ensemble, while actress Kim’s soft cashmere sweater proved an interesting contrast against her sideswept bangs and smoky eye. It’s only day one, but we’re dazzled already.
