Fly and Capture Every Corner of the World with the DJI Avata 360

Featuring DJI’s 1-inch imaging system, O4+ video transmission, and omnidirectional obstacle detection.

DJI has introduced the Avata 360, its latest FPV drone equipped with 360-degree recording capabilities at up to 8K resolution. It was developed with a focus on offering a more enjoyable flying experience, especially for content creators and modern travellers.

According to DJI, this drone is designed to allow more creative content to be captured in a single flight. In short, users can capture the entire environment in a 360-degree format first, then choose the best angle during editing. This approach provides more freedom in content creation, in addition to reducing the risk of missing important moments during recording.

Key Specifications

This drone model is equipped with a 360-degree lens and a one-inch-equivalent sensor. Through it, users can record HDR videos at resolutions up to 8K 60fps, in addition to taking still photos with resolutions up to 120MP.

DJI has also included a 2.4μm pixel size along with high dynamic range to help produce clearer images with better light details. In addition, users are free to switch to single-lens mode for a classic, Avata-style recording experience. It can be done at resolutions up to 4K 60fps in a single recording.

To ensure a smoother drone flight experience, the DJI O4+ video transmission system that supports live streaming of up to 1080p 60fps with a transmission distance of up to 20 kilometres is also available. This capability becomes more interesting when paired with compatible DJI FPV goggles and motion controllers.

Overall, this drone offers a more capable FPV experience to its users—particularly those who want to experience the sensation of flying from a pilot’s seat perspective.

Safety First

From a safety perspective, this drone offers a flight time of up to 23 minutes. It is also equipped with an omnidirectional obstacle detection system that works in various conditions, including low-light environments. Furthermore, a built-in propeller guard is also included to increase safety and give you more confidence when flying the drone in tight, challenging spaces.

The combination of these features certainly helps users control the drone more stably and safely in various situations and flight environments.

Various Smart Features Introduced

DJI also introduced several smart features that take advantage of each 360-degree recording:

  • Spotlight Free allows the camera to continue to focus on moving subjects without manual adjustments.
  • The ActiveTrack 360° feature allows users to automatically select the best tracking mode according to the subject’s movement.
  • The Intelligent Tracking feature also makes it easy to track individuals, vehicles, or pets even in 360-degree recordings.

For content creators who prefer to edit post-recording, the DJI Fly and DJI Studio applications allow the camera angle to be changed again. This can be done through the GyroFrame and Virtual Gimbal functions. All of these features allow users to produce more cinematic camera movements, including rotations and changes in perspective that are difficult to achieve with conventional drones.

Storage Offerings

The drone also offers 42GB of internal storage that can store approximately 30 minutes of 360-degree footage at 8K resolution even without a microSD card. The file transfer process is accelerated through Wi-Fi 6 support. This allows data to be transferred to the DJI Fly app at speeds of up to 100MB per second.

With a combination of 360-degree recording, FPV experience and a variety of software-based creative tools, the DJI Avata 360 is seen as a modern, all-round drone. It is ideal for content creators, remote travellers and aerial videographers who want to produce content from a more dynamic perspective.
